Graduate Assistantships

The English Department awards a limited number of graduate teaching assistantships on a competitive basis.  Full-time and half-time positions are available for qualified students.  Assistantships currently provide a stipend of $1,200 to $2,400 per semester.  Assistantships involve work tutoring undergraduates in the department writing center. This guided tutoring experience on the university level, in complement to their course work and research, helps to prepare graduate assistants for careers in the academic world or further study in a Ph.D. program.
