• IBIS  (great, cost-effective site for German books)

Places to keep up with books:

• The Atlantic Monthly  (nice coverage of books; longer pieces often turn up as books later)
• Boston Book Review
• Boston Globe
• Harper's  (a must visit, if only for the Index)
• The New Republic (pieces on books and culture always of interest)
• The New York Times Book Review   (good site of the always disappointing yet indispensible Review)
• The New York Review of Books   (excellent site, far too good for you)
• Salon.com  (sometimes just trendy, but often interesting)
• San Francisco Chronicle  (yes, they actually read on the West coast)
• The Village Voice Literary Supplement  (comprehension of this is directly proportional to residential proximity to Greenwich Village)
• Washington Post Book World

Places on the other side of the pond to keep up with books:

• The Economist  (what they cover in books is excellent)
• The Guardian
• Irish Times  (you don't see many reviews with a "pub finder" side bar--Joyce would have approved)
• London Review of Books
• Sunday Telegraph
• The Times Literary Supplement  (meager site, but always interesting to see what the TLS is excited about)

And for you non-mono-lingual types, yet more places to read about books:

• Magazine Littéraire  (the New York Review of Books of France, just glossier)
• Le Monde

• Berlin Tageszeitung

• Der Spiegel  (vee have vays of making you read zeese books)
• Süddeutsche Zeitung  (they knew Sebald when . . .)
• Die Zeit  (prose that makes Adorno look like Hemingway; but always thought-provoking)
